Passion Of Christ In Mexico City's Zocalo

The National Company of Classic Theatre: ''Fenix Novohispano'' performed for the twenty-first time the representation of the Passion of Christ in the Zocalo of Mexico City, on april 07, 2023, in which they gave a tour of the esplanade of the square stopping at the key moments of the Stations of the Cross, such as the exchange of the cross, the three falls and the dialogues of Jesus Christ with Peter and Mary. This year the representation was directed by Francisco Hernandez who affirmed that they only follow the tradition that dates back to 1533 where the Franciscan monks performed the dramatization on Juarez Avenue.
