Polykastro station service

A camping tent ready to receive refugees, as all buses from Athens carrying refugees, were ordered to stop at the in Polykastro petrol station, 20 km from the border between Greece and the Republic of Macedonia (FYROM) where all refugees are checked by the Police services. This has resulted last week in hundreds of refugees to remain in the spot for hours in the cold and difficulty. In addition, since the 18 November, Macedonia – along with Serbia, Croatia and Slovenia – introduced a discriminatory border policy, only allowing Syrian, Iraqi and Afghan refugees to enter. For the next 20 days, Macedonia’s authorities arbitrarily pushed back thousands of refugees and migrants to Greece – ignoring any claim they may have to asylum.
