Tourists Flock To Lake Garda Island, Reconnected Due To Drought

People walking towards San Biagio Island, also known as Rabbit Island, on Lake Garda as the lake's water levels recede due to a severe drought in Manerba, Italy, on April 28, 2023. The water level has dropped to just 45.8 cm above the hydrometric zero, leaving the basin at 25% of its water capacity. Summer irrigation and the operation of several hydroelectric plants are at risk. The primary cause is low winter precipitation and insufficient snow accumulation. (Photo by Manuel Romano/NurPhoto)
