A lone journalist sits on a folding chair, taking notes as representatives from migrant rights and civic groups hold a press conference in front of the Presidential Office in Yongsan, Seoul, on December 18, 2025. The event, organized as part of the National Joint Action for International Migrants Day 2025, calls for the protection of the lives, safety, and rights of all migrant workers, yet the sparse media presence underscores a stark reality of social indifference toward the issue.

A demonstrator raises a placard reading in Arabic ''no to the foreign interference'' and another reading in Arabic ''all the support to the president of the Republic'' during a demonstration that brings together thousands of supporters of the Tunisian President Kais Saied in Tunis, Tunisia, on December 17, 2025, in support of the president as the country marks Revolution Day, the 15th anniversary of the Tunisian revolution. The anniversary is set against a backdrop of deep division between supporters of the president and his opponents. It also unfolds amid a deep economic and social crisis, with intensified protests against President Kais Saied's policies and an escalating crackdown on opposition figures, journalists, and human rights activists since he assumes sweeping powers in July 2021. Revolution Day commemorates the start of the Tunisian revolution, triggered by the self-immolation of the street vendor, Mohamed Bouazizi, which sparks a popular uprising that leads to the flight of former President Zine el-Abidine Ben Ali on January 14, 2011.

A member of the Newa community, the aboriginals of the Kathmandu Valley, prepares to welcome the Yomari Punhi and Jyapu Day celebration parade to start in Kathmandu, Nepal, on December 4, 2025. A steaming hot delicacy shaped like a fig, filled with molasses and sesame seeds, commonly called Yomari in the Newa community, marks the start of the consumption of fresh-harvest rice from the full moon of Poush, the ninth month of the Nepali lunar calendar. The harvest festival, marked with fanfare by the Newa community of the Kathmandu Valley, gets its name from Yomari, the fresh-harvest rice sweetmeat. According to various beliefs, Suchandra and Krita, a married couple, first experimented with the fresh yield of rice from their field at present-day Panauti City in ancient times. The couple then distributed the new delicacy to the villagers, which was liked by all, and it was named Yomari, which in the Newa language means ''tasty bread.'' It not only is tasty but also helps one to keep warm in winter and helps to increase blood and sperm.
