Carnival Water parade is held in Venice in the opening weekend of Venice Carnival in Venice, Italy on February 1st, 2026. Hundreds of boats carrying masked revelers crossed the Grand Canal from Punta della Dogana to Rialto, where the lead vessel-topped with a papier-mache Pantegana-burst into thousands of colorful confetti. The Venice Carnival entitled: Il Tempo Di Casanova, started on 14 February and will end on 4 March.

Nepali Congress cadres attend the opening ceremony of the special convention of the party organized in Kathmandu, Nepal, on January 11, 2026. The two-day event involves active participation from general secretaries Gagan Kumar Thapa and Bishwa Prakash Sharma. A petition signed by 53 percent of the Nepali Congress general convention representatives is submitted at the party headquarters in mid-October, seeking a special general convention and election of a new leadership.
