Workers are inspecting the solar panel system that provides partial electrical power to Istiqlal Mosque in Jakarta, Indonesia, on May 3, 2024. The mosque is an example of a house of worship embracing the green building concept by utilizing solar panels as one source of electricity to meet its needs. The management has installed 500 solar panels, which have reduced the mosque's power bill by 25 percent. Additionally, with slow-flow faucets and a water recycling system, worshippers are using much less water for cleansing before prayers.

Protesters are holding placards, one of which reads 'They colonize lands as they colonized our bodies, ZAD, everywhere,' as they demonstrate in the streets of Toulouse, France, on April 21, 2024. ZAD stands for Zone to Defend. Several thousand people are protesting against the controversial A69 highway between Toulouse and Castres. Political parties, unions, and NGOs, including La Voie est Libre, GNSA, CGT, Sud, Greenpeace, XR, LFI, NPA, Amis de la Terre, and FSU, have called for this day of protest. Members of Parliament from La France Insoumise (France Unbowed) are participating in the protest, along with elected officials from towns along the planned A69 highway route. Before the march began, dozens of cyclists arrived from Castres on their bicycles. The main association 'La Voie est Libre' (The Way is Free) and other opponents are demanding that construction of the highway be halted until all judicial decisions have been made. The expropriations for farmers have not been settled. Opponents argue that reprofiling the N126 would be sufficient for the 6,000 vehicles expected per day and would cost significantly less money. The A69 highway is projected to cost EUR512 million (in 2018 euros, excluding inflation) for 54 kilometers, and its construction would destroy habitats for more than 100 protected species and 400 hectares of agricultural land.

Reva, one of the three 'Ecureuils', is being hugged by a friend. After 37 days in the trees, the last three 'Ecureuils' living in the ZAD (Zone To Defend) known as Crem'Arbre have descended as the French Justice has recognized that the Crem'Arbre must be protected and the trees should not be cut until September 1st. People, sympathizers, and LVEL members are welcoming the 'Ecureuils' on the ground. Riot police are present but only to avoid public disorder. The 'Ecureuils' and their trees had been besieged by police for more than a month. In Saix, Tarn, France, on the planned A69 highway between Toulouse and Castres, opponents have set up a ZAD called 'Crem'Arbre', and 'Ecureuils' have been living in the trees to prevent them from being cut down. The main collective 'La Voie est Libre' is demanding that the highway construction be halted until all judicial decisions have been made. Not all expropriations for farmers have been resolved. Opponents of the project argue that reprofiling the N126 would be sufficient for the 6,000 vehicles expected per day and would cost significantly less. The A69 highway is projected to cost EUR512 million (in 2018 euros, excluding inflation) for 53 kilometers, and its construction would destroy over 100 protected species and 400 hectares of agricultural land. Reva, one of the three 'Ecureuils', is speaking to the press. After 37 days in the trees, the last three 'Ecureuils', who have been living in the trees of the Crem'Arbre ZAD (Zone To Defend), have climbed down. This comes as the French Justice has recognized that the Crem'Arbre must be protected and the trees should not be cut until September 1st. People, sympathizers, and LVEL members are gathering to welcome the 'Ecureuils' on the ground. Riot police are present but only to avoid public disorder. The main collective 'La Voie est Libre' wants the highway to be stopped until all the justice decisions are made. All expropriations for farmers have not been cleared. Opponents of this project argue that the reprofiling of the N126 would be sufficient for the 6,000 vehicles planned per day and would cost far less money. The A69 highway is projected to cost EUR512 million (in 2018 euros without inflation) for 53 kilometers, and its construction would destroy more than 100 protected species and 400 hectares of agricultural fields. Reva, one of the three 'Ecureuils', is being welcomed on the ground for the first time in 37 days. After spending 37 days in the trees, the last three 'Ecureuils' living in the trees of the Crem'Arbre ZAD (Zone To Defend) have climbed down following the French Justice's decision to protect the Crem'Arbre and prohibit the cutting of trees until September 1st. Supporters, sympathizers, and LVEL members are gathering to welcome the 'Ecureuils' back to the ground. Riot police are present but only to prevent public disorder. The 'Ecureuils' and their trees had been under siege by police for over a month. In Saix, Tarn, France, on the route of the planned A69 highway between Toulouse and Castres, opponents established a ZAD known as 'Crem'Arbre', where 'Ecureuils' have been living in the trees to prevent them from being cut down. The main collective 'La Voie est Libre' is advocating for the highway project to be halted until all judicial decisions are made. Not all expropriations for farmers have been resolved. Opponents argue that reprofiling the N126 would be sufficient for the anticipated 6,000 vehicles per day and would be much less costly. The A69 highway is projected to cost EUR512 million (in 2018 euros, excluding inflation) for 53 kilometers, and its construction would result in the destruction of over 100 protected species and 400 hectares of agricultural land.
