The flag of the self-declared ''Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus'' is being seen behind relatives of killed Greek-Cypriot soldiers in Nicosia, Cyprus, on July 20, 2024. A memorial service is taking place today due to the 50th anniversary of the Turkish invasion, which is leading to the occupation of 37% of the island ever since, at Makedonitissa Tomb where the bodies of the soldiers killed during the war are being buried.
