An Indian wage worker in a closed tea garden at Duliajan in the northeastern state of Assam on May 15, 2015 during the 12 hour statewide general strike called by All Assam Tea Tribe Student Association protesting to increase their daily wages. A tea garden wage worker is paid 112 rupees( $ 1.76) per day, three-quarters of the state minimum wage and below the U.N.`s $2 a-day for extreme poverty.
