Indian Wedding Band perforn in Dum Dum, West Bengal, India on February 26, 2020. The practice of hiring an Indian wedding band baja (baja roughly translates to a musical instrument) for marriages started in the 19th century. This trend took hold as Indians were influenced by British traditions in all walks of life. Sadly, the practice of hiring a wedding band is no longer the in-thing. The advent of professional DJs and changing preferences when it comes to music and rituals has resulted in a steep decline in the viability of this profession.
