A barricade situation involving Joshua Zimmerman is continuing in Chicago, Illinois, United States, on August 21, 2024. Escaped inmate Joshua Zimmerman from Mississippi is barricading himself inside a restaurant on Chicago's Near West Side, which started Tuesday evening according to the U.S. Marshals Service. Joshua Zimmerman is wanted for murder and armed robbery. Joshua Zimmerman, who escaped from the DeSoto County Circuit Court Building in Mississippi on June 14, is barricading himself at 2325 West Madison Street, surrounded by the Chicago SWAT team, the U.S. Marshals Service, and the FBI. Zimmerman is alone in the restaurant, and no innocent civilians are present.
