It has been introduced to Japan, North America, and islands in the Caribbean. The dove is grey-buff to pinkish-grey overall, slightly darker above than below, with a blue-grey underwing patch. It features a distinctive black half-collar edged with white on its nape, from which it derives its name. The Eurasian collared dove is not migratory but is highly dispersive. Over the last century, it has become one of the great colonizers of the bird world, extending its range to colder countries and becoming a permanent resident in several of them. Wolf moon rising next to Corno Grande and Pizzo Cefalone peaks (Gran Sasso d'Italia National Park) is seen from Tornimparte (L'Aquila), Italy, on January 25th, 2024. Wolf Moon is the initial full moon of the new year and derives its name from native Americans and the fact that January was the month when the howling of wolves became more intense. Additionally, due to the cold temperatures, this was also the time when these animals tended to approach villages more closely, resulting in their howls being heard more frequently. The Brown Fish Owl is a species of fish owl in the family known as typical owls, Strigidae, and is native to Turkey and Southeast Asia. Due to its wide distribution, it is listed as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List. It inhabits forests and wooded wetlands. Among the four living species of fish owl, it is the most widely distributed, most common, and best studied, occupying a range of over 7,000 km.
