The Klezmer Bloc's carnival procession is accompanied by a group of musicians with original arrangements of freilachs, bulgars, and zhoks. They blend marchinhas, frevos, and arrastapes with the klezmer style, an instrumental folk style originating from the Ashkenazi Jewish communities of Eastern Europe, known for its cheerful and festive sound, traditionally present in celebrations, weddings, and religious festivals.

In Oswiecim, Poland, on January 27, 2026, survivor Wieslaw Paciorek lays wreaths and lights candles at the Death Wall near Block 11 during the 81st anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration and extermination camp. Auschwitz is a German Nazi concentration and extermination camp and remains the most recognizable symbol of the Holocaust. Jews from across Europe are murdered there, along with Poles, Roma, Sinti, and Soviet prisoners of war. On January 27, 1945, the Red Army enters the camp, liberating its prisoners. Twenty-one survivors participate in the commemoration.
