The Black Marsh Dart (Onychargia Atrocyana Selys) Is A Small Glossy Black Damselfly, Found In Marshes Surrounded By Forests In Asian Countries, Including Bangladesh, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, India, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, And Vietnam, With Lateral Yellow Stripes On The Brown Thorax And Black And Yellow Eyes. The Black Marsh Dart Is A Member Of The Platycnemididae Family Of Damselflies And Is Found In Many. This Damselfly Abdomen Is Black, Unmarked In The Adult; But With Narrow Bluish Basal Rings On Segments 3 To 6. There Are Yellow Marks On The Lateral Sides Of Segments 1 And 2 In Sub-adults. The Female Is Similar To The Sub-adult Male With Yellow Marks. A Black Marsh Dart Is Sitting On The Leaf Of A Moringa Tree In A Forest At Tehatta, West Bengal; India On 01/05/2024.

The Bronzed Drongo (Dicrurus Aeneus) Is A Small Indomalayan Bird With Glossy Black Overall Belonging To The Drongo Group. They Are Resident In The Forests And Well-wooded Gardens Of The Indian Subcontinent And Southeast Asia. The Bronzed Drongo Has Iridescent Colors On Its Back, Chest, And Head, Including Metallic Blue-green Or Purple On Its Crown, Nape, Mantle, And Breast. They Capture Insects Flying In The Shade Of The Forest Canopy By Making Aerial Sallies From Their Perches. They Are Very Similar To The Other Drongos Of The Region But Are Somewhat Smaller And Compact With Differences In The Fork Depth And The Patterns Of Gloss On Their Feathers. They Are Very Good At Mimicking The Calls Of Many Other Bird Species Which Is A Trait Shared With Many Drongo Species. The Calls Are Usually A Pleasant Jumble Of Shrill Sounds, Whistles, Buzzes, And Metallic Notes. The decorative silver orb spider, or Leucauge decorata, is currently residing in low vegetation or shrubs in shaded, often grassy areas. It is positioned about 30cm to 2m above the ground in a slanted web that is inclined at approximately 15-30 degrees from the horizontal in a moist environment. The female is staying on the web during the day. These spiders, with a body size of about 15mm without legs, are more than twice as long as their body length. Their venom is considered not harmful to humans. This photo is being taken in Tehatta, West Bengal, India, on April 23, 2024.
