The FBI Safe Streets Task Force and NYPD arrest 24-year-old James Hendrickson on the Hutchinson River Parkway near exit 15 in Westchester County, New York, United States, on July 14, 2025. The crime originally occurs in the vicinity of 1023 Ward Avenue, within the confines of the 43 Precinct in Bronx, New York. Police officers are informed that a 27-year-old man has his vehicle forcefully removed. The investigation determines that James Hendrickson is alleged to have committed the crime. The FBI and NYPD locate him and apprehend him on the highway. James Hendrickson is charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle, grand larceny, and robbery.

Police officers work the scene where one man is killed and four people are injured in a mass shooting at 367 6th Avenue in Newark, New Jersey, United States, on June 23, 2025. On Monday evening at approximately 11:40 pm, Newark Police respond to a shooting at 367 6th Avenue in Newark, New Jersey. Five individuals are struck by gunfire. 18-year-old Brandyn Waters of Paterson sustains a gunshot wound to the chest. Brandyn Waters is transported to University Hospital where he is pronounced dead. The Essex County Prosecutor's Office Homicide Task Force investigates, and at this time it is an active and ongoing investigation.
