Anti-abortion protestors from around the Ireland gather in Dublin for the All-Ireland Rally for Life (Save the 8th) - march to Save the 8th amendment to the Irish constitution which protects their right to life, and bans abortion. On Saturday, March 10, 2017, Dublin, Ireland. The Irish government has confirmed that it will hold a referendum on reform of the country’s strict anti-abortion laws by the end of May. Article 40.3.3 – known as the eighth amendment of the Constitution of Ireland recognizes the equal right to life of the mother and the unborn child. If the vote is in favour of repeal, the government is expected to introduce legislation permitting unrestricted abortion during the first 12 weeks of pregnancy.
