Dark clouds are covering the city of Bekasi, West Java, on February 26, 2024. The Indonesian Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) issued an early warning of bad weather that could occur in almost all countries due to seasonal changes through its official website on February 25. BMKG states that, apart from Indonesia being in the midst of a seasonal transition cycle from the rainy season to the dry season, the potential for bad weather is also caused by air convergence present in almost all regions of Indonesia from Aceh to Papua. Consequently, BMKG is urging the public to be aware of hydrometeorological disasters such as strong winds, thunderstorms, landslides, and floods.
