Tunisian judges wearing judicial robes, raise placards and banners during a demonstration held at the initiative of the Association of Tunisian Judges (AMT) outside the building of the Court of First Instance (also called the Palace of Justice) in Tunis, Tunisia, on February 10, 2022, in protest against the president Kais Saied's decision to dissolve the county's Supreme Judicial Council as well as against the closure of its headquarters by Tunisian authorities. Demonstrators also called for the independence of the judiciary and the separation between the executive and the judicial powers. As a form of protest, since yesterday, judges are also observing a two-day suspension of work in all Tunisian courts at the initiative of the Association of Tunisian Judges.
