Giorgi Margvelashvili, the President of Georgia, and Georgia First Lady, Maka Chichua, meet with people in Tbilisi center, as many people of all age gathered for a popular celebrations. Today, Georgia Celebrates its Independence Day commemorating the adoption of the Act of Independence in 1918, that outlined the main principles of the nation's democratic development and formed a first-ever republic under German and British protection, but was then invaded by Bolshevik Russia and absorbed into the Soviet Union. On April 9, 1991, Georgia once again regained its independence. This year Georgia celebrates the 25th Anniversary since the restoration of its independence.
