Szymon Chrupczalski, the VentilAid project coordinator, explains the functioning of the VentilAid Prototype III respirator, a device that can be manufactured cheaply and with widely available parts using a 3D printer. The project was created by Urbicum, a Krakow based company specializing in 3D printing. The first two versions were developed and made available for free on the Internet. VentilAid Prototype III is a device for non-invasive ventilation, operating in CEPAP and BiPAP mode with an oxygen supply and meets the requirements of modern medical standards.
