The water level of the Three Gorges Reservoir drops in Yichang, Hubei province, China, June 12, 2023. According to the Yangtze River Water Resources Commission of the Ministry of Water Resources, as of June 10, the controlled reservoirs in the Yangtze River basin included in the joint operation have released a total of about 87 billion cubic meters of storage capacity below the normal storage level, 16.5 billion cubic meters more than the designed flood control storage capacity, and the overall completion of the annual flood control and fall prevention task.
