March For The Global Sumud Flottila's 5 French MPs And All Other Prisonners Jailed By Israel
5 October 2025

A protester holds a placard reading 'Gaza: silence, one kills. Stop genocide'. As the Global Sumud Flotilla is stopped by Israel and their members are put in jail, in Toulouse, France, on October 4, 2025, people take to the streets to demand the liberation of all people from the flotilla detained in Israel and to denounce the current Israeli onslaught in Gaza. Five French MPs from the France Unbowed party, including Francois Piquemal (a Toulouse MP), and the leader of the CGT union of Haute-Garonne are arrested and detained in Israel. Several hundred protesters participate in the march. The last gathering called by the CGT, FSU, and SUD unions is violently attacked by riot police on October 2 as the Prefect decides to forbid the gathering and the march one and a half hours before the beginning. Riot police charge and clash violently with peaceful protesters and unionists using tear gas and pepper spray. The Israeli onslaught in Gaza is deemed 'genocide' by the CPI and several NGOs such as Amnesty International, HRW, and PHR. Israel crosses all the red lines of humanitarian laws and even laws of war. No meaningful humanitarian assistance is delivered to Gaza since March 2, and a UN-related global hunger monitor warns that more than a million people face starvation in Gaza. Now more than 500 Palestinians die of human-made starvation. Since October 7, 2023, nearly 67,000 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza by the Israeli army.

A general view of the court of First Instance in Tunis, Tunisia, on March 4, 2025, shows a protest organized by the National Salvation Front (NSF), a political coalition of various political parties including the Islamist party Ennahda, and the Tunisian Network for Freedoms and Rights. Dozens of protesters from the main political parties opposed to Tunisian President Kais Saied's policies gather in support of the political detainees in the so-called ''conspiracy against state security'' case during the first remote court hearing. Demonstrators and detainees' families demand a public trial and reject the remote trial. They also call for the release of the detainees and accuse Tunisia's President of using the judiciary to prosecute those who reject his policies and the exceptional measures he imposed on July 25, 2021. Since February 2023, Tunisia experiences a wave of arrests, including media figures, activists, judges, business people, and politicians, including Ennahda party leader Rached Ghannouchi, who has been imprisoned since April 2023.
