National Corps far-right activists throw the funeral wreaths to protest against corruption in the defense industry during the rally in front of Presidential Administration in Kyiv, Ukraine, March 23, 2019. The protesters demand an investigation of the alleged embezzling of defense sector budget funds after journalists released the investigation on 25 February 2019 claiming that the First Deputy Secretary of the NSDC Oleh Hladkovsky and his son Ihor Hladkovsky, are allegedly involved in large-scale schemes of embezzling in the defense sector. On 26 February 2019 Poroshenko suspended Oleh Hladkovsky from office and on 04 March, Poroshenko dismissed Hladkovsky from the post of First Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council.

As on 27 February the band facebook webpage said the Kazka band refused to participate in the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest, "We do not need a victory at any cost," the band said in a statement.This year the singer MARUV or Anna Korsun won in the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest national selection show, however, the public broadcaster and the singer could not agree on her participation in Eurovision 2019. Then the public broadcaster declared that they would negotiate with other finalists of the National Selection. On February 26, the group Freedom Jazz, which ranked second on the National Selection, refused to represent Ukraine at the Eurovision Song Contest after the proposal of the public broadcaster, the UNIAN inform agency reported.
