On April 21, 2023, BYD is aiming to sell 3 million cars in domestic and foreign markets in 2023 as the brand matrix is being improved and new models are being launched at an accelerated pace, Li Yunfei, general manager of BYD brand and public relations, said at the 2023 Shanghai Auto Show. According to BYD's 2022 annual report, BYD sold 1.825 million vehicles in 2022. Based on this calculation, BYD's 2023 sales target is 1.2 million vehicles more than 2022, an increase of about 67%.
