In Athens, Greece, on October 3, 2024, twenty-two Greeks and 38 Cypriot nationals who live in Beirut, Lebanon, are repatriated on Thursday afternoon following an operation carried out by the Hellenic Air Force with a C-130 aircraft. The 22 Greeks land at the Elefsina Air Base and are then taken to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs building in central Athens. Their return to Greece is deemed necessary due to the crisis in the Middle East and the attacks being carried out in Beirut by the IDF (Israeli Defense Forces).
