The Matins of Holy and Great Saturday takes the form of funeral service for Jesus Christ in the Eastern tradition. А procession with the Epitaphios takes place around the outside of the chuch. The Epitaphious is an icon in the form of a cloth embroidered with the image of Christ prepared for burial and the procession resembles the carrying of His body to the grave.
