A Nepali parent and child wait for their turn to receive the polio drop at an immunization center in Kathmandu, Nepal, on April 19, 2025, as the Himalayan nation rolls out a campaign targeting children. The last polio case is detected in Nepal on August 30, 2010, and the zero polio case status is maintained since then. The Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI) in Nepal starts in 1979; it is piloted in three districts (Rupandehi, Dhanusa, and Sindhupalchowk) with BCG and DPT.
