Left Chairman Biman Bose comes out of the CEO's office after submitting a memorandum to Mr. Manoj Kumar Agarwal, CEO of West Bengal State, during a protest by 17 Left organizations against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) and the National Register of Citizens (NRC) issue near the West Bengal State Election Commission Office in Kolkata, India, on October 29, 2025. The protesters claim that SIR, which is meant to revise electoral rolls, is used to collect detailed personal data, such as parental date and place of birth, and that such requirements may disenfranchise marginalized people.
