The crew checks the deck of a fishing boat docked at Muara Angke Pier in Jakarta, Indonesia, on January 20, 2026. Extreme weather and heavy rainfall that hit the Indonesian capital in recent weeks make it difficult for fishing boats to return to sea, causing the pier to become overloaded. Some boats are docked for more than a month and are not able to return to sea. The National Weather Agency predicts that the extreme weather in southern Indonesia will continue until early February.
