Five individuals are struck by gunfire. 18-year-old Brandyn Waters of Paterson sustains a gunshot wound to the chest. Brandyn Waters is transported to University Hospital where he is pronounced dead. The Essex County Prosecutor's Office Homicide Task Force investigates, and at this time it is an active and ongoing investigation.

On Sunday afternoon at approximately 2:00 PM, police respond to a 911 call of shots fired in the rear of 350 East 143 Street in the Mott Haven section of Bronx, New York. Upon arrival, police officers observe a 45-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the torso and a 40-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds to the abdomen. EMS responds and transports the 45-year-old man to NYC Health and Hospitals/Lincoln where he is pronounced dead. EMS transports the 40-year-old male to NYC Health and Hospitals/Lincoln in stable condition. There are no arrests, and the investigation remains ongoing. The identification of the deceased is pending family notification.
