Work continues on the Thames Tideway Tunnel, colloquially known as the 'Super Sewer', in a walled-off area of the River Thames beside Vauxhall Bridge (and in front of the headquarters of the MI6 intelligence service) in London, England, on November 30, 2019. The 25km tunnel, begun in 2016 and due for completion in 2024, will form a major upgrade to London's 150-year-old sewer system, which at present allows huge amounts of raw sewage to spill into the Thames each year.
