Thiruchendur Murugan Temple located in Thiruchendur, Tamil Nadu, India. This ancient Hindu temple is dedicated to lord Murugan and is said to be the site of the battle between Lord Murugan and Soorapadman and the place where Lord Muruga conquered the demon Surapadma (Sooran). This temple is one of the Six Abodes of Murugan. The temple was occupied by the Dutch East India company from 1646 to 1648, during the course of their war with the Portuguese.
