Pro-unification factions from four more parties merge with the Nepali Communist Party, which forms on November 5. The latest round of merger between the communist parties of Nepal includes the Janata Samajwadi Party's pro-unification faction led by Federal Council Chairman Rajendra Shrestha, the Janajagaran Party Nepal, the rebel group of the CPN (Majority), and the rebel group of the CPN (Maoist). The unification announcement ceremony is attended by Nepali Communist Party Coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Co-coordinator Madhav Kumar Nepal, leaders Jhala Nath Khanal, Bamdev Gautam, Narayan Kaji Shrestha, Ganga Narayan Tuladhar, and others. Rajendra Shrestha and other leaders from the groups taking part in the merger are also present at the event. Ten groups, including the CPN (Maoist Center) and CPN (Unified Socialist), announce their unification to form the Nepali Communist Party on November 5. Later, two more parties, including the one led by Bhim Rawal, also join the newly-formed party. With the addition of the groups joining on Thursday, the total number of groups merging with the NCP reaches 16.
