Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune inaugurates the strategic Bechar-Tindouf-Gara Djebilet railway line and passenger service on February 1, 2026, in Bechar, Algeria. The Bechar-Tindouf-Gara Djebilet railway line is a 950 km mining and commercial megaproject in Algeria, aimed at transporting iron ore from Gara Djebilet to the north. This infrastructure, managed by the National Agency for Studies and Monitoring of Railway Investment Implementation (ANESRIF), transports 50 million tons of ore annually and boosts the regional economy with long-distance trains and passenger services.
