Asiatic Lion at Nehru Zoological Park, Hyderabad on 22nd September 2022. The Asiatic lion is a population of Panthera Leo Leo that today survives in the wild only in India. The lion is one of five pantherine cats native to India, along with the Bengal tiger, Indian leopard, snow leopard, and clouded leopard. It was also known as the Indian lion and the Persian lion.
