Citizens protest against the idea of changing the national holiday in front of the National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria in Sofia on 27 July 2023. In the amendments to the Constitution of the Republic of Bulgaria, there is a proposal to make the current national holiday 3 March the day of the Liberation of Bulgaria and the signing of the San Stefano Peace Treaty, be replaced by 24 May Day of the Bulgarian enlightenment and culture and the creation of the Slavonic alphabet.
