Service Union members are facing police obstruction outside the U.S. Embassy in Seoul, South Korea, on April 30, 2024, as they attempt to deliver a statement demanding oversight of Costco following a press conference. This action is in response to an incident at Costco's Hanam branch last June, where 31-year-old Dong-ho Kim died while arranging carts. Despite negotiations between labor and management that resumed in September of the same year and continued until this February, the dispute remains unresolved.
