While police used tear gas to repel demonstrators on the esplanade of Gare Saint-Lazare station, a man descends the escalators leading to the metro on Saturday, September 21, 2019, for act 45 of the Gilets Jaunes, which organized a major day of national mobilization in Paris with the aim of reclaiming the Champs-Elysées. After having tried in vain all morning to gather in the centre of Paris, each time dispersed by the police, the Yellow Vests and Black Bloc joined the climate march organised by environmental organisations. Quickly, clashes between the Black Bloc and the police broke out along the route of the procession, until late at night.
