Latina is a key player in the Olympic flame's long journey to Milan. Stage 19 concludes in the Pontine capital, with a long journey through the city that begins at 6:00 PM from Via Don Torello and concludes at 7:30 PM with the arrival of the last torchbearer in Piazza della Liberta, where a stage is set up for the grand event. The final stretch of the flame passes through Falcone e Borsellino Park, and upon arriving in the square, the torchbearer climbs onto the stage and lights the Olympic cauldron in front of thousands of people.
