Palmer Street in the Logan Square neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois, United States, on July 4, 2025. Officers respond to a call of a person with a knife at a residence in the 3600 block of W. Palmer Street, Friday morning at approximately 9:12 a.m. A 45-year-old female suspect uses a knife to stab multiple victims inside the residence before setting the residence on fire. A 4-year-old boy sustains a stab wound to the chest and is transported to Stroger Hospital, where he is pronounced dead. A 10-year-old boy sustains a stab wound to the right arm and is transported to Stroger Hospital in serious condition. A 13-year-old girl sustains multiple stab wounds to the face, chest, and back; she is transported to Stroger Hospital and is in critical condition. Responding officers render aid to the victims after gaining entry into the residence. A 31-year-old woman and a 34-year-old man from an adjacent residence are transported to Stroger Hospital in fair condition for smoke inhalation.
