Israeli flags are seen during the 36th anniversary of 'International March of the Living' at the former Nazi-German Auschwitz Birkenau concentration and extermination camp in Oswiecim, Poland on May 6th, 2024. The annual march is a part of educational program, which brings Jewish students from around the world to Poland, where they explore the remnants of the Holocaust. Participants march silently three kilometers from Auschwitz I to Auschwitz II Birkenau, the largest Nazi concentration camp complex built during World War II.

Thousands of people demonstrated in the centre of Thessaloniki in memory of the 15 year old student Alexis Grigoropoulos, who was shot dead by a police officer in Athens six years ago and in support of Nikos Romanos who has been on hunger strike since the 10th of November. The 21 year old Nikos Romanos was arrested for robbery in 2013. He gave University Entrance Exams from inside the prison and he is now a college student. His demand is to be given the necessary permission from the prison in order to complete his studies
