Several hundred people with portraits of John Paul II and flags of the Vatican went into the so-called. Papal March in Defense of Pope John Paul II on 2 April 2023 in Gdansk, Poland. The participants of the march are mainly pensioners and the elderly, inspired by Catholic priests and politicians of the ruling right-wing coalition. The march was organized after a high-profile TVN report revealing that the pope knew about pedophilia in the Catholic church and actively helped to hide it, including transferring priests suspected of pedophilia to other parishes.
