TEYA, MEXICO - DECEMBER 15, 2023: Members of the Mexican Navy armed forces(Marina) patrolling near Merida-Teya station, located 12 km from Merida's center, enabling transfers from Merida-Teya Mayan Train station to Ie-Tram Yucatán—an electric BRT network, connecting to the new Parque de La Plancha in the heart of Merida, on December 15, 2023, in Teya, Merida, Yucatan State, Mexico. Today, President Lopez Obrador had unveiled the initial 473-kilometer segment of the Mayan Train, linking Campeche to Mérida. This momentous achievement was a pivotal stride in the 1,500-kilometer blueprint of the flagship project following three years of construction. Amidst debates, the President underscored its global distinctiveness while inaugurating the Ie-Tram transportation system at the 'Teya Mérida' station.
