Bangladeshi Muslim Protest rally in Dhaka, Bangladesh on 21 April 2017. Several thousand of activists of Islami Andolan Bangladesh on Friday demanded immediate removal of Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha as well as the sculpture of Greek Lady Justice from the Supreme Court complex.They made the demand from a rally at the south gate of Baitul Mokarram national mosque after Juma prayers.They also threatened of tougher movement if the government does not remove the sculpture and the chief justice for hurting the religious sentiment of Muslims before the holy month of Ramadan.The sculpture of the Greek Lady Justice holding a scale and sword in her hands was installed in December in front of the Supreme Court building near national Eidgah.The sculpture is wrapped in a sari, a Bangladeshi revision of the usual representation, the Greek goddess Themis blindfolded and clad in a gown.Islamist groups of Bangladesh have been opposing the installation of the Lady Justice statue considering it anti-Islamic.Leaders and activists of Islami Andolan Bangladesh from across the country started converging at Baitul Mukarram from 10:00am.They chanted different slogans including the demand for removal of Chief Justice for hurting the religious sentiment of Muslim.
