The aircraft took off from Nis Serbia carrying weapons like mortar shells and landmines with final destination Bangladesh. All 8 pilots and crew from Ukraine died after the crash and the explosions of the ammunition that followed the fire, while local eyewitnesses saw one of the four engines on fire while crash landing on July 16, 2022 near the villages Antifilippoi and Palaiochori. The plane had on board 11 tonnes of Serbian-made weapons. According to international and local media, the pilot had requested emergency landing at Kavala airport in Greece due to engine failure shortly after take off, but was unable to reach the runway and crashed at 22:45 local time. Antifilipi, Kavala, Greece on July 29, 2022
