A group of women, men, children, elderly and indigent do not seek refuge in any border. They are not immigrants, refugees or displaced people are people who attend on June 14 to the church of Father Claret in the city of Maracaibo Venezuela. Every day in search of a plate of food and a helping hand, the Church will not stop to wait for the help of the Government, and does not stop trying to answer this pressing reality, even if it is to mitigate the hunger that exists in the country. Beyond religious preaching, its pastors, faithful and volunteers are aware that its mission also has to do with assistance in favor of the most disadvantaged sectors. As a result of this emergency they created "The Table of Mercy" They started with 100 food tickets, but the digits multiplied until they reached a large group of hungry souls in all senses. Now, every Wednesday, a team of 40 or 50 volunteers, serves 800 people per day. This daily figure translates almost 50 thousand people in a year not only in street situation, but those to whom unemployment, economic crisis or lack of health, are without the possibility of access to a good diet and a decent life.
