In Palermo, in 4 days there were 12 Olympic fencing competitions (6 individual and 6 in teams), 18 of Paralympic fencing (16 individual and 2 in teams), 2 of blind fencing. 500 athletes of Italian Air Force, Italian Army, Carabinieri, Guardia di Finanza, Italian Police and other society, competed to win the 32 Italian titles offered in the various categories. Considering then referees, tournament directors, technical staff and race management, besides the masters of the athletes, the instructors, the managers of the various societies and the companions, the people directly involved in the event have reached 1500 units.
