In 2024, 18,256 fire incidents in the Philippines are recorded, according to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP). This is an 11.2% increase from 2023, when there are 16,387 fire incidents. The fire incident casualties also rise to 341 civilians, compared to 321 in 2023. According to investigations, the main causes of fire in residential areas in the Philippines are open flames, faulty wiring, and unattended cooking.
