As local media reported, dozens of Ukrainian believers gathered in front of St. Sophia Cathedral for their rally holding placards which say 'Bartholomew is a servant of Pompeo', 'Shame on Bartholomew!', 'Bartholomew, burn in hell!' and others, protesting against the recognition by Bartholomew I of the as canonical Church in Ukraine, only the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, and ignoring a Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Moscow Patriarchate, as the protesters announced. Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I sent a letter to the head of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Moscow Patriarchate, Metropolitan Onufriy, inviting him to take part in the Unification Council on December 15. Among other things, in a letter, Patriarch Bartholomew I told Onufriy that after the Unification Council he will not be able to have the title of Metropolitan of Kyiv, as local media reported.

As local media reported, dozens of Ukrainian believers gathered in front of St. Sophia Cathedral for their rally holding placards which say 'Bartholomew is a servant of Pompeo', 'Shame on Bartholomew!', 'Bartholomew, burn in hell!' and others, protesting against the recognition by Bartholomew I of the as canonical Church in Ukraine, only the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, and ignoring a Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Moscow Patriarchate, as the protesters announced.
