Statue of St. Josephine Bakhita at the Martyr's Shrine in Midland, Ontario, Canada. St. Josephine Bakhita was born in the area of Darfur, Sudan in 1869. She later became a Canossian Religious Sister in Italy. In the year 2000 she was declared a saint by the Catholic Church.
