Leaders of the CPN-Maoist Center convene the party office bearers meeting at the party head office in Kathmandu, Nepal, on September 21, 2025. In the party office bearers meeting, CPN-Maoist Center leader Pushpa Kamal Dahal, also known as Prachanda, proposes a special convention to elect new leadership, citing the current political context. Dahal also proposes to dissolve all party committees from the central to local level. Once approved, all existing party structures from the grassroots to the central level will be dissolved, and a General Convention Organizing Committee will be formed. The committee will be tasked with organizing the special general convention in December.
